Mary Jane's Hemp Chips - give us a buzz at (415) 779-HEMP

(openPR) - Cerveceria MODO S.A. de C.V., is proud to announce today on this Cinco de Mayo national holiday the launch of 'Mary Jane's Hemp Chips'. The new patent pending premium USDA certified organic stone ground hemp seed tortilla chips are being developed for manufacturing by Los Angeles-based Snak King and will initially retail for about "three dollars'' for an eight ounce bag in Mexican Bars and in the Supermarket produce section next to the guacamole and the fresh salsa.

Mary Jane's Hemp Chips are end-baked, all natural and have no cholesterol or trans fats, and are designed to satisfy your craving for a spicy Mexican food in a gourmet bar style tortilla chip. Mary Jane's Hemp Chips are in a new category as they're the first and only tortilla-style chip made from hemp seeds instead of ground corn. This difference results in a more delicate "la hoja de mota'' flavor that's irresistible straight out the bag or perfect when dipping guacamole and traditional salsas.

Each bag of Mary Jane's Hemp Chips contains golden triangular chips that are made from spicy seasoned hemp seed masa cooked in 100% hemp seed oil for the perfect crunch to satisfy that "Cinco de Mayo'' craving. Hemp seeds have strong nutritional credentials, containing 25-35% protein; fiber; the short chain omega-3 fatty acid ALA; plus a small amount of the lesser-known fatty acids gamma-linoleic acid (GLA), which has anti-inflammatory properties; and stearidonic acid (SDA), which the body converts into the heart-healthy longer chain fatty acid EPA more efficiently than it converts ALA.

"Don't bogart that bag of chips, my friend, pass it over to me," joked Richard H. Davis, El presidente de Cervecería MODO S.A. de C.V. Located in TECATE, Baja California Norte, México. Davis says the hemp seeds don't contain any of the active compounds found in marijuana, so you'd have to eat "many, many bags" to feel buzzed. He also insists that the munchies don't give you more munchies, but does admit his hemp chips "mellow people out," Davis got the idea for the hemp chip while riding on the Tijuana Trolley in San Diego, California. Davis is a tortilla chip aficionado and knows the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, like an old "Sergio Leone" Spaghetti Western.

About Cervecería MODO S.A. de C.V.

Cervecería MODO S.A. de C.V., a brewery Located in TECATE, Baja California Norte, México is famous for its Beer Flavored Tortilla Chips here is the story: Beer Flavored Tortilla Chips Brewing For Cinco De Mayo: TECATE, Mexico (Wireless Flash) - A Cinco De Mayo (May 5) party wouldn't be complete without chips and cerveza, but now both items are being combined into one tasty snack. Cerveza Modo - a brewing company in Tecate, Mexico - has just created "Cerveza Chanquito Chips," which are special beer-flavored tortilla chips. The gourmet chips are baked using organic ingredients and Cerveza Modo, which has hints of tequila in it that give the chips an authentic flavor. The cerveza chips are currently being marketed to bars, but spokesman Richard H. Davis insists the chips are great for the average amigo. Says Davis: "They're good with guacamole and while you're drinking a beer or margarita. The cerveza taste of the chips is distinct, but won't overpower your cocktail." Davis also claims the chips are perfect for those who don't drink cerveza, but still enjoy the taste of beer, as the actual alcohol content of the beer is baked out of the chips, leaving just the flavor. He jokes, "There's no way you can become an alcoholic from these cerveza chips!"
